Update

Not much going on in Donner-world! Thanksgiving was at Aunt Mary and Uncle Ron's as is typical. George had a blast going up and down the stairs and playing with everyone. The food was great and it was a joy to have the family together.

Saturday the siblings (Eric's Dad and his brother and sisters and spouses) got together to go through some of Grandma Donner's things in the house. We were technically invited, but it felt a bit awkward, so we held off letting the children go before the grandchildren seemed to be the better choice. I have my "prized" possession from Grandma Donner and it's crazy. I have one of her linen dishcloth calendars from 1972...dries the dishes the BEST and it reminds me of family...not just the Donner family, but my side as well. I thought about asking if she had any more, but I'm happy with the one I have. If I find out that she does then I will gladly take them...or buy them at the garage sale that is in the works for the spring.

We bought our tickets for the trip home and are now making some plans for holiday purchases...buying online and having it all shipped to my mom's since it will be difficult to pack. We also have George's birthday. We are having the party here the weekend before his birthday because it all gets smooshed so close to Christmas and we have baby Charlie's 1st birthday coming up on the 16th, too. Trying to figure out what to do for the cake for the birthday boy. He likes Spiderman, puppies, balls and trucks. Wow Wow Wubzy is up there on the list, too.

I have tomorrow off work for QDay. Instead of employee appreciation day, this year they gave everyone a day off with half of the day designated for volunteer work for an organization of your choice. I'm volunteering at the Hope Chest at church. We give childrens clothes and food for those in need in Johnson County. The numbers are growing rapidly.

Okay, I think that is it for now. Have a wonderful week everyone.

Craziness

Too much going on in my world!

Friday I had an employee knockk their head against a table and cut their eyebrow open. I was in a meeting with another employee and they made the decision to not come and get me and not leave to seek treatment on their own. To complicate matters, the employee is a contractor and so at the VERY least should have contacted the agency rep for our company. What this means is a whole bunch of paperwork and a potential OSHA visit. Have I mentioned lately how my job and I are not on the best of terms?

So, on the school front...my thesis paper/project is jacked up and I'm trying to get approval to fix it. I'm a bit stresses on that front, too. On the bright side, Statistics is going marvelously well. The professor is pretty straightforward and makes things easy to understand...at least while you're in the class.

In other news, no brunch tomorrow as Joe and Cheryl are going to be heading to the boats for the Crystal Brunch there. We are going to see if we can swing by in the morning because Cheryl wants her George fix. Don't know that we will do that because this afternoon, George was running a temp. It wasn't monstrously high, but it was a fever. I hope he's through with it by tomorrow.

So, George has been telling us when he goes potty. (Although, sometimes it's polly and not potty...?) So, I ask him if he pee-peed and he will nod his head and then I will tell him that we need to go to his room to change his diaper and he will (sometimes) head back toward his room so we can get it all taken care of. Today he told me he went potty and I said okay, let's change your diaper and he headed back. Well, I took the diaper off and there was nothin'. Soooo...I figured we'd sethim on the potty and see what happened. AND GEORGE POOPED IN THE POTTY! I still can't quite believe it. Quite definitely a one off thing. I am realistic about this! However, it might be time to procure a potty chair...

That's it from Donner-land! Love and hugs to all!

Two in a Row?!?

I'm getting ready for an early night-night! I'm still not feeling well and I know sleep will help a bit in getting over the yickiness.

So, I cleaned yesterday...and for now, the house is still in presentable shape. There are a few things amiss, but for the most part it looks good! I need to give the bathrooms a spiff up and the sweeper needs to come out of hiding for a few minutes but it's still presentable!

School is going well. I have a statistics quiz tomorrow. It is open note and open book and I am pretty confident that I'll be able to make it through without too much trouble IF I can keep from overthinking the problems. I'm enjoying the class (scary for those who know me!) and think we got really luck to have such an excellent instructor.

Trying to come up with gifts for George for his birthday and Christmas. Thinking trucks and cars. A potty chair/step stool is on the list, too. Other than that, and clothes, I think we've hit our limit. We were going to try for a table and chairs like what they have at school, but Eric's mom for a heavy-duty plasitc set at a garage sale and it works very well for us.

This is an exciting glimpse into my world. YAAAWWWWN! Maybe next time I'll have something exciting to post...but don't count on it.

I'm supposed to be cleaning...

George is napping and Eric is at the grocery store. I'm supposed to be cleaning but thought I'd do a VERY quick update.

I'm being asked to help out with the children's ministries council at church. I'd love to say yes, but not sure I have the time. I'll have to ask about expectations and time commitment.

The announcement came out at work. I'm now over all of CDA...Imaging Services, Data Entry and Forms Control. Debbie is moving to head up the Project Assistant group. A lot to learn and I'm not sure I want to learn it, but I have no choice.

Currently listening to "No Impact Man" on CD. It's interesting. I'd like to give it a try sometime. Think I will continue listening and take smaller steps.

Updated the picture...it's my turn! ;-) And George is sooooo not a baby any more. My guy can count to 3! Sometimes we make it to 4...and after 4? Well, silly, BUS comes after 4! Didn't you know that?!?!?

Off for now! Have to make some sort of progress before Eric gets home!
